Looks as Philip Watches has come again with another watch up for sale. This time being Steve McQueen’s Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513. Recently Philip Watches has put up for public auction watches belonging to Elvis Presley and Paul Newman which has sold for US$1.8 millions and US$17.8 million.

Back in 2009, Antiquorum had a another Submariner that belonged to Steve McQueen which was auctioned for US$234,000.

The Submariner, now with Philips, was purchaed by Steve McQueen, circa 1964, and later gifted to his dear friend and stuntman, Loren Janes. During the historic Sand Fire in 2016, the Rolex Janes’ possessed was engulfed by the flames and his home.

Later, Loren Janes’ daughter retrieved the watch and immediately took it to Geary’s in LA, later to Rolex USA for service.

This Submariner is set for auction later this year on October 25th, 2018. at their New York sale. This auction will definitely be more expensive than the first Submariner owned by McQueen. This due to how special this watch meant to McQueen and Janes. This Submariner has also been through terrible fires and still survived with minor wear.
