Mazzuoli wanted something other than conventional designs. Instead of the basic dials, he chose to draw inspiration from a pressure gauge. The word “manometro”, in fact, translates to pressure gauge in English. Although many collections such as the Contagiri, Manometro has always been the flagship collection.

The Manometro Camouflage is a time-only watch with three hands from the center. The watch features a chunky 45.5mm x 13.5mm case, offset winding crown at 2 o’clock,  and is powered using the trusty ETA 2824 movement. Hence the name, the “camouflage” pattern is available in four different colors – forest green, navy blue, desert beige and urban black. And equipped with the dial and strap of each matching and respective watch in a complementing colour.

Its case is made strictly in Italy, in Mazzuoli’s Florentine, Tavarnelle Val di Pesa laboratories using a composite material of coloured resin in a great labour-intensive process. These colors can be achieved by using pigments extracted from stones and minerals and have a high resistance to both light and heat.

This watch remembers those important chapters in the beginning of the company. It is made from stainless steel and available to 173 pieces. The in-house caliber features n escapement that incorporates silicon components in order to achieve lower friction and less wear and tear over time. UN also has received COSC certification for the calibers sourced for this run of watches.

Ulysse Nardin are known for their bulky chronometers, and this is exactly that. With a diameter of 44mm, this watch is definitely noticeable on the wrist. The dial portrays the Navy and Marines colors like the beautiful white on the dial with accents of blue hand and black numerals. And because this is is chronometer, reading the time down to the second is a priority met with a larger-than-normal small seconds sub-dial.

One thing that surprised many, and even me, was that the water resistance is marked at 50 meters. For a chronometer like this, anyone can expect it to have a water resistance of over 100 meters.

Before many of you start giving it mixed feelings about this watch, it is actually a pretty nice watch that fits a casual look. This Omega is dubbed ‘Denim’ for a couple reasons. At first glance you see the striated denim dial that looks neat. Also, the use of denim for one of the bracelets with leather accents and finishing. The denim on denim look with the dial and bracelet does not really catch my eye but when you switch it out for the steel bracelet, that looks special!

The brushed steel case measures 40 millimeters across with 20-millimeter lugs. The central second hand has a burnt orange finish to match the Railmaster text on the dial. The crystal is double-domed sapphire with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. This case is also rated to up to 150 meters.

Although this timepiece could bring in mixed reviews about its look, this new Railmaster looks very neat with a nice casual look. On the denim strap, the Omega Railmaster Co-Axial Master Chronometer “Denim” is $4,900, and on a steel bracelet it’s $5,000.
