Founded in 1999, Richard Mille rose to success in the past 17 years as their first product was released in 2001. Richard Mille’s most popular watches are those equipped with a tourbillion. These timepieces all have an expensive price tag and Richard Mille watches has been considered as one of the most expensive. Richard Mille also claims to have produced the most advanced watch, The RM 008, priced at $500,000.

Not many companies make logarithmic scales a feature on their watches, and the most specialized brand to do it is Breitling. This is basically what we most refer it as a slide rule. The circular slide rule has a mobile scale (on a watch, this is on the bidirectional bezel), and a second, fixed scale (on the dial), each with its own graduations. Together they can be used to perform simple mathematical calculations such as multiplications, divisions, conversions and “rule of three” cross-multiplications.

Sylvester Stallone Designs a Wristwatch For Richard Mille

Sylvester Stallone has recently collaborated with Richard mille to design the Richard Mille RM 25-01 Tourbillon Adventure Sylvester Stallone. This timepiece is a chronograph with tour billion inside a 50.85 mm case. The case also has a removable fitted compass bezel. It is priced at around a whopping US$1m and resembles the nostalgic movie of John Rambo in First Blood.

Interesting enough, this is not the first watch designed by Sylvester Stallone. He has been responsible for several watches and even pens designed with Italian pen maker Montegrappa. The recent timepiece designed by Stallone is covered in snakes and skulls which is a different style of Richard Mille watches.

The case on this tour billion is enormous and made of a carbon fibre composite made up of alternating layers of carbon, called Carbon TPT. The main feature of this watch is the compass bezel made of titanium, which can be removable set in a bayonet mount. The compass has a hinged lid in Carbon TPT with a mirrored back as well as an anti-magnetic coating on its crystal to prevent the magnet on the compass from affecting the movement.

At four o’clock there is a green capsule that is a spirit level that can be used to ensure the watch is perfectly horizontal when using the compass. As an extra feature, the removable titanium case can be mounted on the frame and laid flat on a map for navigation. There are two compass bezel that are included with this Stallone collaboration. The other bezel is covered with a 24-hour and 360 degree scale, and used in conjunction with the hour hand to determine the cardinal points relative to the we are.

This Stallone wristwatch has the same base movement supplied by Renaud & Papi. The movement is a hand-wound chronograph calibre with a tourbillon regulator with the Richard Mille aggressive mechanical aesthetic. With a 72-hour power reserve there is a power reserve display and function indictor that reveals what position the crown is in.

The RM 25-01 Tourbillon Adventure Sylvester Stallone is limited to 20 pieces, priced at US$983,000 or SFr934,000.
